I’m an incoming senior in Ateneo de Manila University, AB Communication, but I really don’t think course is too much of a criteria. The other interns were Comtech and Lit.
I couldn’t really say specifically what they’re really looking for, but I’m guessing the usual. Creative and snappy writing is a big must (I’m guessing. Me kasi, I can say I have writing experience. God, I’m not saying I’m super clever with my words hah. hahaha!), hard work and great organization skills. A flexible sched is also really important. I had my internship from March ‘til May aka Summer so I was in the office hours at a time, doing pullouts, writing, research etc. With students, Rogue prioritizes school, so if you get an internship within the academic semester (if they’re offering during school), you’ll have to write a lot.
In sending your resume, include your sample writings. Better if its been published (like newspaper, magzines etc).
It’s all right if you keep asking, though! :) But I don’t know what else you need to know hahaha
Hello there :) My friend Karen B. is a close friend of Rogue’s EA and she said they were looking for Editorial interns for the first time. I sent over my resume to intern@roguemag.net then I got scheduled for an interview. About a week later, me and two other interns got called for the first batch. There are I think four or five other interns called for 2nd and 3rd batch. I’m not sure if they’re still accepting Editorial interns but I’m pretty sure they always have Marketing interns at hand. Still, go ahead, its worth a try.
Good luck, and tell me how it goes! :)
